I believe ppy's itention was to leave clear first pick aka Levi what would allow him to take storm. Its obvious he had no plans to play levi, so in any other situation it would normal to ban it. Also, zero sentry wards against brood is just embracing for kuroku...

So yes fika, we learned something today..... Storm>all.

I dont think storm > all, few nukers and disablers and he is useless without 3 imba items... watched games where aeon countered storm with lion lina rasta atropos heroes, also there is blooseeker, doom, balanar, any orchid...
and btw extasy in competative levi is not "clear fp" lol...

p.s. idk if anybody notice thesee things, but mvp is misery lion that got 2nd game on track for ddt, IMBA lion 2nd game, IMBA

Ofcourse that there is no 100% first pick in competitive dota, but there are picks that are most common and most expected to happen, because there are heroes that are simply the best in their role, and fit in most tactics and game situations. Such is surely Levi, since it represents the best initiator in this game, combined with good tanking and early game skills. There are very, very few games recently where Levi isnt either banned or picked.

So yes, if you dont ban, nor pick, its almost sure opponent will, and its well expected to be a fast, most likely first pick.

Same goes to storm, ofcourse that every damn hero has counter in dota, but here we talk about finals of a tour with highest ranked teams, and as you saw storm had huge contribution in winning each game, so yes that makes it one of most useful heroes overall.

I'm sorry you said storm > all, I just said that is not true... you may now say he is best posible carry pick these days... boom, also not true, he is very countarable and if u fp him enemy can easy counter u, he is like last 2 picks hero... just cause they underestemated and ignored the fact u need certain heroes to stop him don't mean storm > all

One thing I cant understand, why is the best early/mid/late game ganker considered as a carry?

Fika, you watched asia vs europe replays , played on asian bots with 1s delay for europe guys, even you would own misery on mid, not hyhy + roy..

Yes, every hero has its own advantages and disadvantages, u spoke about tide too, yes, it might be a good initiator for mass battles, but he lack line control and is kinda useless in ganks unless you have double stun line who can kill even without him.

Also, half of the players here got slardar as " auto ban " and I dont find him any stronger than kunka/sven/mirana/centaur and most of other semi-carry heroes, any hero can be good if he fit in your line up. ( yes, slard with vnaguard/pt dager is nice initiator and usually kill one hero before even battle start, but same does any other of the mentioned heroes and many many others if played in the right way )

You cant say someone is outpicked watching just the picks, as i mentioned before there are many heroes who can be put up together in a team and yet do just fine, both teams play to win, sometimes u win sometimes u lose, thats the life..

storm...well he is ganger ofc, but he needs alot of farm to be efficient, that's why I consider him carry... it's just his style the way he carry's, but he needs farm
and y the more versions come out, the bigger the pool of usable heroes are, some heroes have an edge now, but not too much... so y, I just finished a game -cm our 2 fp's where dk wr, and we won(same skill teams) xd
