Hong Kong is a special administrative region. Laws and business are set by our government itself. Around 10 years ago, Hong Kong was still part of Great Britain and this was the flag:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/85/Flag_of_Hong_Kong_1959.svg/600px-Flag_of_Hong_Kong_1959.svg.png

See Wikipedia for further details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hong_Kong

I have spent around 7 years in Hong Kong and there are 3 major things I should say.

1) Hong Kong has perhaps the world's MOST convenient transportation. Trams, Buses, Taxis, Metro, Trains, Mini-buses, all come and go.

2) The things you can buy in Hong Kong in terms of what you get is considered cheap. From technology to food, there is an enormous range of choice. Shopping malls close late at night and the city never stops moving! However, renting a place in Hong Kong is the 5th most expensive in the world.

3) The environment however is poor. There is almost no fresh air and space to do sports is limited.

I will take some pictures and upload them soon. For now, you may ask me questions.

How do authorities (police) behave? Are they fanatics dedicated to their job, are they just ... normal, or are they too soft.

Every city/country has it's problem with some people (like Ro and other countries got with gypsies or the manelisti (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manele)), do you have any bad culture / style around there?

- The police in Hong Kong are pretty strict. They patrol the streets all through night and perform baggage and ID checks frequently.
- Everyone here is hardworking so business becomes a competition. For example, there is KFC and McDonalds, Nike and Adidas, 3 bakeries right next to each other.
- There of course is bad culture. Etc. the typical hairstyle all HK teenagers have.

Except for the Chinese people in Hong Kong , which people can you see a lot?
Is anything being done about marijuana legalization? :)
- Since HK is a business city, there are all different kinds of people. Mostly American, British, and other Asians.
- Marijuana is not allowed I believe.

- Yes, Liverpool, Manutd, AC Milan, and all the big teams have come in the summer for friendlies.

- Yes there is an airport here.

- The sea is way too contaminated in some areas. It is for transportation since HK is split into several islands. There are beaches to swim in however.
- All the companies are basically opened due to other countries. A lot of banks, car shops, computer shops.
- To go from HK to China or vice versa, you either need a visa or some sort of special ID.

Do you know any companie called Nortel ? There ?

Nope.

- Emo guys/girls, not many. Most people are nerds here.
- Sure, at night time in some areas, there are gangs that hang around in alleyways etc.
- Basketball courts are small, so yes there are many. But grass pitches for football and rugby are limited.

Definitely. You can buy hentai games/videos in some shops.

3: I would like to see prices in HK, so if you could post some, like bread, milk, clothes, etc what comes to your mind.

1) Chinese, then Western Europeans.
2) Don't know any.
3) Food prices can be really cheap and good. 1 euro = $11HK
- A meal is around $25-$50 average.
- Clothes, I normally buy shirts around the price of $300HK. Though, there are some shirts that cost over $1300. A Liverpool jersey without a name at the back would be $400, with a name around $650.
There are expensive things too, like a $22,000 graphics card.

you all look the same :D

(just kidding, but I feel obliged to say this)

I can understand your dislike towards the lack of space / fresh air. Do you go outside the city a lot? Mb to the Tai Tam Park, or some of the smaller ones?
