Hello each drumer.

Do we have a drumes on forum? If yes, on what stuff you are playing, what was your first song on drums, and how to learn to play. I'm begginer and I wanna to ask, how to learn on own hand. Gimme some exercises, tips and everything what will be helpful.

i think it should be a thread for all instrument players, since there probably isn't too many around, and btw smare94, your post could be considered spam as well...

anyway, i've got my first bass some 5 years ago, but i didn't play it all the time, i forgot most of the stuff and started all over again, i believe i've got some 2-3 years of experience of playing bass, plus few months acoustic guitar, some basic chords nothing fancy. i believe it's essential for a bass player to learn the basic chords on acoustice guitar so he could understand the guitar player.anyway, what type of music do you guys play?

I'm playing rock, nu-metal, metal and similar kind of musics. I'm not totaly sure what I will play in future, because I'm still searching. Funny thing, my brother is a guitarist, my cousin is guitarman too, my second cousin is a bass player, and I bought percussion kit, then I became a drummer ;D We have ready band, we are a little covering other great bands, but until my second cousin don't have a combo loudspeakers (don't know how to write it ;p) we can't start to play together. But, we are rescued, because he will buy combo on Monday ;D

I've got Fender Acoustic guitar , mostly learning some alternative/classic rock or grunge , when I get some skills I'll start playing on electric and make The Red Hot Chili Peppers/Nirvana/Pearl Jam tribute with my 2 mates who happen to be bass player and drummer , we just need a vocal , hoping someone can pull it out of us :) Well ,that's the plan , I hope I'm gonna make it :)

Anyways , good luck with your learning and practicing (:

You have to like folk & rock music to sing at guitar drums etc...

White stripes have only 2 ...

i used to play rock and hard rock, but as me and my friend (who has played lead guitar in all the bands i've ever been in) kinda grew olderwe started "expanding our horizons" so currently we're doing some funk/blues/jazz music, but it's all just in the stage of preparation. we need a good drummer, so if you know a good drummer in Zadar willing to play that music do let me know :D :D...

Too much concentration is needed to play solo guitar as Kurt did and sing so passionately at the same time , that is one of billions of reasons why he was so extraordinary , so we will need a vocal who is only going to sing :)

And btw Fatman , which bands/performers are you doing when you told you're doing funk? James Brown , George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic? Respect for that direction anyways , <3 funk :D And you must be very good bassist when you are playing funk music , I mean , where is bass more important than in funk? :)
And what did you do of hard rock? The Doors maybe? Hmmmm Whitesnake? if so , cool man , I like your taste !

as far as funk goes we aren't doing any covers, we mostly play our own stuff, well, to be exact, my friend writes all the music,he really knows his stuff, so it probably will sound a bit simple at start but you gotta start somehow. i believe our music will improve in time.

the artists we covered in our "hard-rock" phase were Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple, Sabbath and Hendrix.Led Zeppelin was too ambitious i think, i mean trying to cover Plant's voice is impossible, but we gave it a shot with our own version, Black Sabbath was a lot simpler, i think Deep Purple songs were done ok as far as the bass/guitar/drum section goes but like with LZ the voice and the organs from original were too much for us. Hendrix has always been our thing, mine in particular and since his music didn't need any extra instruments we always had a good sound, only thing you need to cover Hendrix is a good guitar player, and we had that. whitesnake is a great band, but when you listen to their stuff they always have that refined sound of coming from the studio, no background nosies and such, and that sound we could never achieve in our primitive environments. as far as Doors go, we always considered playing them, but something would always come first, we did a jamming session based on a bass line from "Break on Through" and it sounded really awesome...they are a good band to cover if you have an organ player (which again, we didnt have :( )

forgot to add, i'm not that good bass player as u myb think, after you figure out some parts of musical theory (scales to be exact), a whole new area of playing opens up, that is, after you understand the scales, you can sound great with just an average playing technique

Same.

Tommorow, me and my couisin would buy a combo for his bass. We will start to play as fast as possible, and I will upload some of our work.

I think we can write here names of good players. His clips, solos, live etc.

Check the "Nathan Huges", bass guitar player. He is playing and singing at one time.

My favourite band, SOAD. Check this live (Psycho ), and ending solo.

no offense dude, but that can hardly qualify as a solo...

then again,i listened to that some time ago but i'm more into more sophisticated kind of music right now, so i prefer the stuff from this genre:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIqfDHP0D5s

don't get me wrong i still like to listen to something harder, like SOAD, from time to time, but there is music that you like or not, but i believe jazz/blues/funk is music that you just have to respect whether you like it or not.

It is not that bad as you think that we think ;D

I'm not a conservatist, and I like to hear something other than hard music. That was nice ;)

Btw. My cousin bought a guitar combo, now we can play together ;)

they're quite cheap nowadays, i've found a shop where u can purchase a guitar, 10 W amp, tuner and learning software for guitar players for some 200 €, all brand new, plus there's a shop where new guitars are sold at a price of some 100-120 €( no this is not an advertisment for those shops :D). mind you, they're nor a Fender or Gibson, but for a newb apprentice those guitars are more than enough

I have drum combo "TAYE" Orbitone. I bought hi-hat "Amedia" (really nice sound). I gave about 100 €.

For all combo I gave about 450 €.

450 + 100 = 550 € :D
