Enter warcraft, Options > Game Play
Read the ports number, what is it ?
Are you sure all other firewalls are off / ports opened in them ?

Dont start bumping your post, you have to wait, we dont have a magic ward to solve problems.
You need to setup an internal static IP and forward that (u must end up with something like 192.168.x.x)
Check these:

So from guide on your link, i can choose 10.0.0.16 and i chosed already.
And here is my TCP/IP Connection Settings:

Add spoilers when placing pictures
anyway, I think u should end up with something like 192.168.x.x
like this picture
http://xs219.xs.to/xs219/07350/manualipdns.gif
not 10.0.0.x

''Thus, if YOUR router uses 192.168.2.1, then you MUST pick a Static IP address that begins with 192.168.2
If YOUR router uses 10.0.0.1, then you MUST pick a Static IP address that begins with 10.0.0''
There says guide on your link. My IP adress was 10.0.0.9 and i choose 10.0.0.16. I have done things accorging to that guide.

But it's a specialized thing. Look, i could be host 1 years ago; and my static IP was 10.0.0.136. But now it's not working.

I formatted the PC and i didn't change any setting. I opened the ports again but it still didnt done. I am seriously thinking this is about XP SP3. But isn't there anybody that have SP3 and can be host?

I think that ur ping timed out...
And tell me, ur problem here is that u cant host?
Have u done all, includin opening ports in firewall, forwarding and a static IP?
aSSeFFeCT
16th August 2008, 12:09 PM
So? What is it's effect?
Yeah, i did them all. And i still can't be a host. I think it's about Sp3 and Network Acsess Protection(NAP) in it. Bu t i don't know about details.

There is a simple test you can do that will basicaly solve all the mistery for me (two dots key is broken or somehow aint working)
First of all i would like to ask you to listen only to moderator or people who actualy know what they are saying otherwise you might damage your computer/modem badly, that said read below"
Okey try this,
-Open your router panel (please use your gateway IP from your ipconfig.
-add DMZ mode (check on virtual server.. on 99% of the time it`s there) to your computer static IP (the same one you used to forward port).
-save and reboot modem.
Try hosting, if THIS doesnt work you can be sure that the problem is NOT related to your modem so you can read the end of this text : (yay works again).
The problem is.. those `new` anti virus mostly of then come with option to block appl when you launch for the first time and if you picked the option somehow your anti virus might be blocking it (disabling the AV doesnt set it to `enable` so you will have to do it on your on if it`s the case).
-This is the most important ! there is a huge problem in windows firewall at service pack 3. Micro**** (microsoft) renamed the firewall on services to ~SharedAccess~ this because Safe Setting is set automaticaly by default.
So here`s what you got to do :
sc query type= service
Create a line on your userlogin
sc config “SharedAccess” start= disabled
-
(This doesnt happens on every sp3 since as far as i know some update fix this (or not)).
Or you can do the manual work and fix this on msconfig or registry.
Service Name (registry): SharedAccess
Display Name: Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)
If noone of the solutions above worked please remove this sp3 peace of iron and use sp2 as a normal person =p
SP3 = made for users stop using windows xp and buy vista lol.
Moon,

I don't understand these. Can you tell me?
And i Found DMZ mode but there says additionaly Host Ip. What ip should i enter here?
Hey! Will you answer me?

The host ip you get from ipconfig.
