So Netherlands v Russia is today, and donno what ur still sayin, but i seriously expect a great match. Dont call Russia luckers, they proved in their last two groupstage matches that they can play pretty good football, they have no special team spirit but they do have an amazin player, Arshavin, whom i regard among the very top in the world right now. And a top class attackin full back, Zhirkov, if u watch them closely, these two can do everythin for a whole team by themselves. Last, there is Hiddink on the bench, a superb manager.
Netherlands on the other hand proved that they are deadly up front, midfielders and attackers of world class, able to destroy any defense. There should be quite a few goals scored in this match, considerin that both teams play open. Unless they fall in the heavy importance of the match and play more conservative..but i wouldnt expect that.
I want Russia to win, and i believe they can, but favourites are the dutch -_-
Netherlands will win,but i expect tough match if our Russian brothers play as well as vs Sweden...

A surprising one, indeed, I think it would be nice to have an unexpected result, and Ned to go home.
Until now, the teams which won groups ( Portugal, Croatia ) were eliminated by runner-up teams.
Ned and Spain are next, but it seems we're going to extra time, since Van Nistelroy scored.
And btw Russia remained in complete staff, since that red card got canceled, that was hell of a luck.

russia played really well though...
Group stage winners were the quarters' losers, because the quarters ain't like the group stage matches.

I must admit that i never expected this. I really love Russia and i cheered them, but i was almost sure that Nerherlands will crush them. Its a total surprise for me. Anyway the most impressive for me were shots from distance by Russia. Few of them were more then astonishing.
Anyway i think its proved that many "unknown" players have much more qualities then some world mega giga super stars who actually showed nothing more then average players on this euro.

Gj for Russia, i always like to see such surprises and this Euro is full of them. now, the way i see it, neither one (xcept Spain, who's playing today) of the teams that ended group stage as 1st in group has passed to semis. really unexpected. you just gotta love football (ok except in times when your team loses vs turkey :) )
[EDIT]i've just seen what russians scored in OT...congrats on victory but those goals certainly aren't beauties. 1 defensive mistake and 1 ball that went through Van Der Saar's legs:ohmy:...but still great job for russia

Well, that man is genius indeed, i mean, he created Basten and his players, Nether's modern football is made by him, especially Van Der Saar, as Gus said before the game "I've always been for Van Der Saar and had very much respect for'im , but today he's my greatest enemy and and all respect is forgotten" This coach is unbelievable. He sorted russians especially good. Just like I said Gus created Netherlands modern football and he has the solution for it.

I was with Russia this game, I'm glad they won, but I hadn't give them any chance at the beginning of the game..
Let's see if the 4th Runner up will win the 4th Group Winner ( spain ), so all group winners shall be out.
van basten was a great player, but he is a terrible coach.

Hah talking about Gus, yea he is a dutch, but the russian federation garantied him a bonus of
600 000 euros if the russians go to the semi finas , so he sold his football country for that money, any1 would have done it :D .
And mby other ppl gave him some bonus to , he got rich :D
