in my adventures with bots and wooden players i meet:
-min ~ 12 sec
-max ~ 140 sec xD (almost reseted PC, and all players start argue about faking woodens pc ;) )

i mean 5v5 games, in some tests or >5v5 i see better times,
i edit and put screens when i meet sth interesting

i just try measure my personal map loading, i load map 5 times
1st load ~15 sec
2-3-4-5 ~12-13 sec

my wooden is : mobo nforce4, amd ~1,4 GHz, 1024 ddr400, geforce 6600 128 mb, 80gb sata 8mb 7200
(so not so imba... i heard many palyers got 3ghz, 2-4 gb ddr800....)
map version was: 6.52c, bot version: 0.31,
win xp pro sp2 PL + updates, ON: kaspersky, comunicator, bandwitch controler, banlist, war3, bot, autowarkeys, temp sensor, opera
playing war3 in 1280x1024 with full detail and effects ;) know its funny but this have influence on loading too

alt+tab can lead to slower load , or bunch of other programs turned on , I doubt anyone would want and be able to play dota on a computer loading for ~130 sec without anything other running.

it is a lie, W3 TFT won't work on such configuration, I tried on pretty much same PC several years ago, when w3 came out in first, it just won't work.

my friend, was played war3 dota games on pc like (similiar to jesus pc):
amd duron ~800mhz
256 mb ram
geforce 32mb

he told, play like **** and low all, not funny playing, but possible

ps.
absolute minimum pc for Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne instal and run:
- 400 MHz Pentium II or equivalent, or a 400 MHz G3 processor or better.
- Warcraft III requires 128 MB of RAM. Virtual Memory should be enabled on
- 8MB 3D video card (TNT, i810, Voodoo 3, Rage 128 equivalent or better) with DirectX 8.1 support.

so in imba low resolution with all effects low or off, shoud be possible to play,
ofc not confortable play..


imo for average normal gaming with averega system and cleaned pc, needed minimum:
~1 Ghz proc
~512 mb ddr
~64 memory video card

but remember it strongly depend on PC user knowlage and mess on system,
noobs with new imba pc, can have problems when oldschool soldiers with cleaned pc and correct setted can play normal ;)

in that time a load on version 4.4 for dota was about 5 min average.

if someone reseted computer in that time it could come to 10 min.

and NOT depend on interent speed or host which you play on

map loading time is time when counting since your war3 start loading map
procedure on your own PC, into your memmory

it strong depend on CPU, RAM, and HDD speed, graphics card too

Using 2 cpu or 1, or setting realtime priority doesnt improve your loading. Tried that.
