Inactive safelisted players

I've come to realise almost half of players who are safelisted are inactive - in meaning they havent played one ss game since the ladder was implemented.
Easy way to check is to copy-paste the list of safelisted players avalaible here: http://150.254.70.99:8080/Helios/safelist.jsp
to MO Word, check the statistics and see that there are over 500 lines.
There are 222 players ranked in ladder, 34 of them have only one game played.

This requests a mayor cleanup, at least in my oppinion. Why are these people in ss at all if they dont play games?

It is better to clean ss of players who dont have enough skill for it... then to clean it of inactive players.They will come back maybe but others will not learn to play that fast.That is my opinion...
There is inactive players and they come on SS when it is ss-tour or something like that , or they just come to see old friends and play one game...
Like u see devicem is back, Madafaka played ss-tour, Dest is also back, void come sometimes, SNS play ss games... etc..

True, inactive players dont harm anyone. That list could have 100.000 names, it's just a database, Guard will not care.

first think about cleaning ss by removing current active less skilled players
then u can think of 5 yr old members in safelist database

Agree with pedro , there are way to many noobs on ss witch are forcing people either to leave or not to come back.

Imo this should be done soon , like just ban all the people that suck even if i am 1 and then if they think there good enough they can apply for the test game.

It just struck me that while you are trying to clean ss from unskilled players, you have 200 + members who arent players at all.

I have nothing against inactive people, but the people who only play pubs and don't have games on ladder might aswell be removed, since they obviously don't play. If they are removed, the number of actual ss people online shown by guard would be much more accurate.

Yes.Good Idear !support Sigrada.First of all Clean Ss of players that have low skill and are not improving , then take out the public players that are safelisted and play only pubs.

Well, I can't persuade my friends to play ss games because they don't want to be in the same team with noobs who don't know how to make a decent gank at the appropriate time. I tried even to tell them that we can still play when there are only good players in the game...but it looks it wasn't enough.

Want an example? I played yesterday, having infernal lag on host_one, but still trying to do _something_, _anything_. I placed wards in the ennemy forest, called ppl to gank 2v1 - nobody came. Few minutes after, drow saw someone from their team @ rune and chased when wards expired. He asked for me, I said "back, never chase, nobody on the minimap"; he ended 1v4 calling ME "noob".

Nothing more to add; if none of the 20-25 skilled ss players is in the game, there will be only sucky 60 minutes farming games.
I can't blame my friends for avoiding ss games.

Sigh. Lots of "inactive" players ....play on garona or somewhere else cause they they know there is a better place then here ...ofc some u will say this is where u chat and u play some games with ur friends and relax...nah its nothing like that....the air in ss channel is poluted ...all the players hate each other......and almost all the games suck cause of that.

if ppl are more polite and listen to some skilled players ...it would be a better place for playing :shh:

Maybe its just me but yet again i find a reply agressive. I do not understand where do hostility comes from, but i'll try to answer.

People join ss because they want play games without total noobs and without leavers. I play pretty rarely, but 25% of my ss games had leavers or idiots. Also most of the time you need to wait pretty long to find ss game. This is why people are safelisted and dont play.

Rules are not clear and I noticed also that recendly ss is becoming "elite" thanks to mods. So, goodbye games without leavers, welcome 'happy hours' for +-30 players and waiting an hour until game starts ;)

there are several reasons why people dont play in ss.
-real life obligations
-playing on some other priv channel other server ggc doesnt matter
ss is full of noobs
-waiting for their -rep to expire since everyone its a habit to -rep for everything nowadays
regardless of the reason fact of the matter is no one here is payed to play so you cant really make someone play here

hi fans! xD as some of u now i played alot of ss games before, and past 5 months i play on GGc... but i log on Xpam sometimes when i get hit by some nostalgy or smt. i ll never stop playing on Xpam safelisted or not couse this is f... place where i started playing dota long ago... so i can just add my opinion <Deleting inactive plaers is such a bad idea>

Not playing in ss games does not negate your ability of playing good which ss is about and which right u earned when u applied(and that is play good in ss whenever u please). I haven`t notice something like "u must play that many games in order to not get removed from ss" when i applied. Maybe it was something like "u must be active" and "active" is define by every single ss player as he pleases since it never been specified. Hence i`ll still play ss games i as please and if such a rule would be rising up(like removing ss inactive players) i`ll leave the server.

You are refering to players that does not play in ss, not that don`t play at all. "how can you call him a player, never mind the skill?" Simple, is he ss and still plays pubs/privates? Well than he`s a player. Why would someone want to deny his right to play ss games when he wants?

If they are removed, the number of actual ss people online shown by guard would be much more accurate.
How about just looking at the actual number of players curently on channel /ss and it will be much more accurate, if you think it still wouldn`t be accurate because of afk that stay there all day long maybe you should ask that guard should kick afk players from channel, but not contributing in "lets remove ss players for inactivity" .

The problem is not with the inactive players, but with the ones that play pub,almost at every hour are min 10 ss players online,so we can make an ss game easy if they would all join.Simple as that my opinion.

It's because mass rmk's ... Sometimes took 1 hour to play one game from ss channel ..So when I wanna play just one game(cuz I need to go after) I chose pub but not always :)

That way or another punishing people for playing pub games won't serve good to community ;)

If you want to demand activity, do something like the DCE on northrend does, you have to play at least 1 SS game per 2 weeks, or else you get auto-unvouched.

The answer is simple...for theyr own personal pride that they reached a place/comunity of good players.
Sometimes is funn to go in cyber,where from 35 PC's ,33 play dota,and just 3 PC's users are SS-playas.
