I've just seen this marvelous movie and all I gotta say is....
IT SUCKS! IT'S ANNOYING, POINTLESS AND BORING! PEOPLE WERE WALKING OUT OF THE CINEMA.
IF YOU DON'T WANNA WASTE 2.5 HOURS OF YUR LIFE, I SUGGEST YOU DON'T WATCH IT.

Actually i would like to see Daniel Day-Lewis to be more selectfull.. the movie has some intresting views in it but if you like watching movies go for it, if you are an action-type watcher dont get too close...

i've just watched it last night so here are my impressions (ok i'm a bit lazy to watch movies)
the movie itself deserves and oscar, acting is great, story is great even the endings is great... but, it takes 2.5 hours of your life which seems to be the first drawback. usually i dont care for length of move if it's a good one, hell i've watched Lotr 2 and Braveheart probably 10 times so far in one piece and they both last the same as this one if not longer.
so what is the problem someone would ask? well, the problem is that story develops at snail's pace, it's kinda like Godfather 2, another great movie that i dislike due to its epic size and snail's pace. as far as the movie itself, in genre terms i rlly don't know where to place it but emotions play a big part of this movie, it's actually quite emotional and i don't mean those sissy :" I love you so much" crap. i mean real human emotions, dissapointments, greed, anger abusage...there is a small amount of violence and dying but nothing extra.
in short, if you are a true movie fan that loves all those old classics and epical stories, like the above mentioned Godfather, and willing to sacrifice 2.5 hours for a movie with close to 0 violence, you will probably more than like it. if you are, like me, a mediocre movie fan that watches myb 1 movie a week and enjoys quickly paced tarrantino-like movies (hell tarrantino would have ended this movie in 45 min :D), then you won't be able to shake the feeling that almost 3 hours of your life have gone down the drain.
nevertheless, a great movie and a movie with great artistic value, too bad i dont strive for that...

I thought there will be blood was one of the best movies i've ever seen, i'd recommend it to anyone. The length isn't a big deal to me, as long as it's a good movie, and in my opinion, it definitely was.

Long movies ain't good unless the story is long.

yea but a lot of time in this movie is lost on unnecesary scenes and stories... then again, it is all a matter of taste, i don't like this kind of movies, although they are good, they just don't suit me
