First of all, we shouldn't be worried about that meteor, 'cause when it enters the atmosphere, there is a big chance it will burn, second, you can't be sure that the meteor is even going to come near Earth, yet.

if the meteor is very big, it wont burn completly... and it will create a huge crater when it'll hit the earth... and there is a chance that it will create an ozone whole too (that's bad) evan if it burns completly

y , ozone hole (not whole ) s are very dangerous ,..coz ozone layer is suppose to absorb the harmful electromagnetic beams,..
also, what i've learn today in school is a black hole,. it's a god damn scary place,.. it is so big,..and has such a big mass,therefore has such a big gravity that it doesn't let anything go outside of it,.. even it's own rays,.. and it kind a pull everything in it...very ****d up system we got upthere,...

Have you heard about "chaos theory" or "butterfly effect"? They say that very complicated systems can be hardly feretold, two similar states can result radically different results. The Universe is quite complicated full of effects which you can't calculate with. That's why you can't say what will happen 30 years later, so many things can happen till then. If a stars gravitic field changes the route of that meteor, the Earth will have no problem with it.
About ozone hole: I don't think that a meteor can seriously damage the ozone layer. Ozone is gas, this shield is not that kind of shield which protects us mechanically. It can be damaged by freon (i hope this is the english name too), carbon-dioxid (or monoxid?), fluor and other gas.
hmmm.. about aliens, i dont think aliens will ever attack us(but i do belive that they exist). why would they travel milions of light years(is that correct?) whit their tehnology to pwn this puny planet which is in faling appart process(we are destroying her whit our rubissh)

thay may have some interests with this planed , maybe spacial strategic position or others ...
or maybe because this planed is inhabited and they want to explore life as we do
or this planet it inhabitable and they want to conquer it to live here because their mother planet was destroyed .... many posibilities

The meteor we are talking about, is heading to Mars, there is no meteor at the moment coming towards Earth.
I don't know who the hell said it, it's probably a misunderstanding.

The similar technology is already developed by US and used for spy satellites,(it was announced only recently and only because the man who wanted to build asteroid diverted stumbled upon secret government project.

Meteors have huge kinetic energy, you can't stop it with a beam of light. Have you heard about "light pressure"? It's a very low effect, you can't stop a meteor using it!
Sending rockets can stop meteors. You have to detonate it in the middle of it, and it will torn apart if the energy is great enough (some nukes are surely enough :thumbUP:) The smaller parts reaching the Earth will annihilate in the atmosphere.

You don't need to stop it, you just need to divert it from course to earth. Rockets are god only if asteroids don't have gas/pockets, and that why it is not the best weapon against it. Gas pocket is just a deflection or absorption for explosion expansion.

Some meteors have a more complicated composition , some are some heavy rocks , some are some fragile rocks , some are made of metal , and some can be like a sponge , meaning that it will absorb the energy that rocket creates. So a missile isn't always a great sollution.

Why would aliens represent a threat since there is no sign of their existence?
At least,not of a sufficiently developed creature able to harm us.
A meteor would be more of a danger.If it is large enough to not disolve at the contact with atmosphere and fall in the ocean,at that speed...the impact wouldn't be very cheerful....
And bloody hell it's an unpredictable threat.Such a lovely combination!
Ye I also think that if there are "aliens" they live in different solar system/galaxy and there are more planets inhabited by them(I mean , different civilisations) maybe they are not developed as we are and maybe there are in period like this planet was in fewer million or hundred years ago or maybe they are very developed and more then we are , but they would have to develop a speed close to light speed if they want to come invade us after traveling 100 years witch may be their lifetime :D
All in all , I think that even if there are aliens somewhere in space , we wont get to meet them , because , as I mentioned , we would need to develop speeds that are beyond imagination at the moment , and probably ever. Same goes for them.

1) If aliens exist somewhere in another galaxy, we cant even know how they look like and how life has evolved on that planet (or those planets).
It may be completely different than life as we know it here, it may not even have started the way it started on earth, chosen different paths, evolved slower or faster, etc..
2) Today scientists are observin the space constantly, monitorin any activity that happens up to some distance as far as telescopes and sattellites allow. Possible meteor - threats are spotted and calculated to the lvl of danger they impose long before they reach close to earth, scientists can predict the exact course of every meteor approachin earth so we are in NO danger of havin a meteor hit us out of the sudden, we will know long long before it gets near, so we will be able to take measures.
If you believe in evolution, you basically believe aliens exist.
One of the greatest arguements is that the Earth is just too perfectly positioned and functioned to be created by chance from some big bang. A slight change of its position or processes can easily kill us all.
Well the answer from atheists is that the universe has so many galaxies and solar systems that it is possible by chance, it was randomly placed and created so well.
Based on this idea, there should be numerous alien inhabited planets which may send monster troops to us at any time.
PS. Did you know that around 50% of the astronauts who go up to space and see the beauty, eventually become a Christian?

Yea , it's preety impossible for us to be the only living inteligent beings in the universe.
There are 300 billion galaxies discovered at the moment , that sums up alot of solar systems and planets; that is probably equal to how many sand cubes exist on all beaches of Terra , to think that only in 1 small cube inteligent life or at least life exists is madness.

and yes, we see only the truth, we fight for honor and whit our hearths for our thing and belives! We are SERBS!!! not like other countries like americans who spilled blood over their history and continuing, today lieing about Kosovo(is and always will be Serbia) how its proces of falling apart of Yugoslavia but Kosovo was never a country but an biggest history piece of Serbia.
