Ventrillo

As we all know it's better to play with ventrillo or team speak. It allow you to talk with other teammates which lead to better team play.

It is for this teams, that don't have ventrillo/team speak.


How to use ventrillo and connect to server?

1. Change User name
2. Change server
- Push "New" button
- Hostname or IP - ventrilo.dota.pl
- Port number - 21000
- Password - dota
3. Press "Connect" button
4. Change channel to SS Tournament #1
- Password - sstour
5. Select channel (Sentinels or Scourge)


Microphone arrangement.
- press "Setup" button
- first bookmark ("voice")
* Mark Use Push-to-talk Hotkey and choose it (recommended)
It means, that when you push choosen button, you will be able to speak to others
- Now you can check it it works. Press "Test" and start talk (with talk button pushed). Then hold "talk button" and listen what you just said.

Then you can control volume in outbound (your microphone volume) and inbound (other users volume).

the server doesn't work, hostname or ip incorrect, it shows this error: "unable to resolve the specified servers dns/hostname"

all things work ok. try again mby you write something incorrect version must be 2.1.4

serwer is working fine, we use him few months allready , SKype isnt good program to talk in game not only IMO.

I don't think Skype is good, since IMO it takes too much of your RAM, which is kinda the most important thing when playing online.

guys i have an idea, we should use ventrilo on ss games but there is some problems (from my opinion):
1. the server is running on version 2, this is old you should go on version 3 because the majority of the players use version 3 client.
2. not everybody knows about ventrilo but this is not a big of a problem because in time everybody will use ventrilo.
i saw on gg in ihcs (something like ss but is better) that in the majority of the games players use ventrilo witch is good.

one of the admins can start a new thread on ss with this thing so the players can know.

p.s. don't forget, i suggest a version 3 server.

well if u know somebody who host ventrilo on version 3 feel free to share that news, but as far as i know the latest version is not for private users and if u want to use it without license its limited to 8 slots on chnl so...
ill stay 2.1.4 :)

I have ventrilo ,skype and teamspeak ..
For me the best is Skype , nobody cant enter ur talk and u dont need to open some room and get some Ip..
But i also tried ventrilo and i think that ventrilo also very good ,but i dont like teamspeak .
