If it is possible, which do you want to be a character in this film, and why?

ı choose legolas always

because he has a range :D and he can see big distance.
He is presented as an unstoppable fighter, presumably from eons of practice; he performs jaw-dropping stunts in battle scenes in all three movies. For example, in the Uruk-hai attack on Amon Hen, he stabs one Uruk in the eye with an arrow, then shoots two more (the arrow going through the first Uruk and into another) with the same arrow. In the Battle of the Hornburg, he slides down a staircase on a shield, shooting arrows all the while, and as he reaches the bottom of the staircase he shoots the shield out from under him into an Uruk's neck, drives his arrow into another Uruk, pulls it out and shoots it at another

LOTR movie is a joke (for example scene where Legolas skates on the shield; I mean only someone who haven't read the book thinks that's cool; he is one of the Eldar, Firstborn, they don't do that kind of idiocy). Book is much better, of course.

I would like to be Elrond, because he has wisdom from three kind of races, Elfs, Humans and Mayar.

I would never play a movie by script, or a book, and the lotr is not the best story at all. Warcraft story is better ;)

You must be joking. If u aren't joking u really are slightly retarded or u don't have any knowledge at all. I mean, come on! Think what u are saying! Do u understand that without LOTR books u wouldn't have Warcraft. All those fantasy games that we are playing wouldn't exist without this book (because, if u aren't too retarded, u must understand that everybody are exploiting this book for games, movies...).

Don't comment things that u don't understand!

I read so many books like The Wheel of Time, LOTR, A Song of Ice and Fire...
Warcraft is not made 100% by the book, and thats why its good :)
You should know something about the book writer before you read it... He took many things from Norse and German mythology, and WW1 WW2, many say that hes days in the war inspired him to write lotr.

I don't like the movie, its so boring ._. also a crappy ending. And I don't even remember half of the things I read in the book.
And warcraft story has nothing to do with the book, its a different plot.

2nd every movie has a producer, and he can do whatever he wants with the storyline, if I'm producer, I would never made a movie 100% by some book(thats what I meant). It wouldn't be "my" movie then -.-
I can't find my self in the book, so there is no character like me in it.

I agree with idoicy, rly sux hard :D But its what mr. producer liked, its hes choice.

First, of course, I know that Tolkien used some things from Beowulf, Ring of Nibelung, Nordish mythology... I'm not just some stupid guy who like Peter Jackson's crapy movie.

Second, I haven't say that Warcraft has been made completely by the book (of course they can't take the whole book and copy it, because of author's copyright), I'm just saying that without Tolkien's books game creators wouldn't have an inspiration to create such game (I mean everybody can see that; look how the newest expansion of WoW had been named).

Third, I disagree with your sentence that says:"I would never made a movie 100% by some book...", because LotR isn't just some stupid childish book. Tolkien through his books tried to create mythology (like Ring of Nibelung or Beowulf), and because of that movie must had been made by his conception and vision.

Fourth, and last, only LotR and other Tolkien's books are originals (I mean on the subject of that kind of Epic Fantasy World), everything else made on this subject, after Tolkien died, is/are copy/copies.

well, first of all, LOTR movies are nice. some1 said they got crappy ending, well duh... wtf do u expect?? LOTR, as well as Star Wars series, aren't movies you watch for some tension, excitement or ****in unexpectable endings... you just sit back and enjoy the effects, and scenes..

they aren't made by books... wtf, like they had to be. i really hate those nitpicks that bs about second movie being too short/long, or that Arwen didn't get Frodo in 1st part but some Glorf-elf dude..... because it doesn't matter if u make it exactly by the book it still kix ass, movies aren't made for hardcore fans only ffs. congrats to Tolkien for writting it, but if you've seen the scenes in movie you gotta say that Peter Jackson has done more than excellent job.. i don't mean just fight scenes or slaughter. my favourite scene would be the one in 1st sequel when Ganjalf is left at Saruman's tower, camera looks at him and then falls down the tower into the mines.... really kick-ass job. so if you're gonna worship bloody Tolkien for writting it your should also give some credit to Peter Jackson/his staff/actors for visiulasing that masterpiece...

NightCaller3

I understand what you're trying to said, but if somebody writes masterpiece (like LotR is), you should try to stick to the concept of the book. P. Jackson let his imagination run wild, and tried to recreate already written script. You see Tolkien tried to describe in his Letters and in his other books, that Elfs had no power to attack (as P.Jackson tried to visualize), they only can defend their borders, because they have no power like they have when they came to Middle-Earth. There is of course a lot more then this, but this mistake is, by far the biggest mistake he made in whole trilogy.

I give Jackson credit for some scenes (like Boromir's death in part one, or Gandalf's fight with Balrog in part two) that look really great. Also some of the actors were really convincing, like Ian McKellen as Gandalf, Vigo Mortensen as Aragorn, Sean Bean as Boromir... but others (like that guy who played Haldir) were really annoying and disappointing. And last but not least, is the staff that visualize this masterpiece. On their work I don't have any suggestions, they were pretty great. All of them, from illustrators (like Alan Lee and John Howe) to sword makers, deserve congratulations for their work.

Just to say that I'm not trying to argue with other people, I'm only trying to present some facts, that can't be denied.

P.S. Happy New Year and Christmas holidays!

Thast's completely true. Lord of the Rings is catagories as Modern Methology of the West. Along with the Starwars they are counted as the initial ideas of latter stories about sci-fi plots.

I wanna add about the resources that Tolkein used.they are more only sort of very simple prototypes that is awkward to mention of his masterpiece as copies from for example German based mythology "beowulf",since the outcome is much more complicated than the very simple stories as old as northern myth.

and what i really loved in "beowulf" is in almost every kind of myth u must die young to be a hero while he dies old :D Gosh it's such a masterpiece.

Have u read Similarilion? ( I am not sure that spelling is correct coz of Serbian translation) LotR is just a small part of it...
We don't say that Tolkin didn't create great fantasy books, we just say that there are many books that are as good as LotR but they are not used for making movies, and thanks god that they aren't because it will ruin the whole story no movie can ever be better than book!
