Here, you'll find Altered Melee maps ( with description ). I'll add new maps, every week! Enjoy :tiphat:
You can also ask hints, give hints,talk about the maps, post here your Altered Melee maps ( BUT WITH A DESCRIPTION), etc, but spam will not be tolerated!

This plays like a regular Warcraft melee map except with 12 races to choose from:
# Human Alliance (same as standard melee)
# Orcish Horde (same as standard melee)
# Undead Scourge (same as standard melee)
# Night Elf Sentinels (same as standard melee)
# Burning Legion
# Draenei Refugees
# Forsaken Cabal
# Naga Covenant
# Stonemason Union

# Pandaren Empire

Each of the new races has been filled out with:
# 10+ unique unit types and 4 unique heroes
# designs to promote original strategies and tactics, supplemented with distinctive themes
# a wide assortment of abilities (roughly half were custom-made for this mod)
# a full branching techtree comprised of personalized structures and upgrades
# racial shop with a customized menu of items

This map can be configured for teamplay, ffa, 1v1, or any combination desired. Any player slot can also be computer-controlled.

7.2 fixes:
-Gollum is easier to kill in hobbit age in order to get ring
-Elrond only gets dark lord timer when picks up One Ring
-The One Ring is removed from the game if the AoS pick heroes option is used (triggers will mess up otherwise)
-various balance and small error fixes

This is an all in one middle earth map. It has tons of game options which utilize a voting system at startup. You can fight on the Dagorlad, Pelennor Fields, or play a customized melee game in either the LOTR age or The Hobbit age, or play an AoS game in either age with the option of choosing 1 hero or using the default for the age. Other options include Flank Attack Damage (units take extra damage from behind), and Hero revivability.

This a hugely expansive map with virtually unlimited scenarios and playing options. Buy a host of armor\weapon items and challenge an enemy hero to a duel!

Virtually everything has been customized in this map, but here are the basics:

Getting 'Gold':
Scenario gameplay: What you start with is what you have
AoS: 20 or 30 gold every minute or so, get more from kills
Melee: While there are a few gold mines on the map, primary income comes from farms. Farms are expensive and a max of 6 can be built. Every few minutes they give a hefty amount of money. Guard them well (or attack them). Gold is also gained from bounty in melee mode and from winning a duel or by finding it in Moria or the Lonely Mountain

Why is there always 2 computer players and why is the bad sad outnumbered?
Answer:
I needed 2 players for the comps. in AoS. Bad side has a larger food max than good players. Bad also has the oppurtunity to rescue the balrog in moria to gain another hero. In the Hobbit age Ply12 (brown) can rescue Smaug from the Lonely Mountain. If these heroes are killed before rescued they are out of the game.

Sauron's Forces have finally gathered around Minas Tirith and preparing for the greatest battle of Middle Earth.
7v5 altered melee map.

-Each player get money periodically to train units and upgrade them. Forces of Sauron gets extra money depend on their # of kills.
-Carefully designed units and heroes each of them has custom skills.
-Careful made Ladder system.
-Unique gate system, approach the gates with your unit and right click to open (no bugs)
-Small foodcap, there are no masses of units, each soldier is important in this map
-Arrival of Rohirrim and Ghosts to reinforce the Free People
-25 to 30 minutes of gameplay
-Tactical options
-Some custom skins and models
-And much more

v1.8 changes
-added nazgul skin and 2 new icons
-added a custom loading screen
-player 6-8 and 10 heroes can now revive. Revival time is 20 + (hero level x 4) seconds.
-gandalf's healing spell replaced with a damaging spell : flame of anor
-disabled to attack allied units
-free people heroes now gain lesser xp
-some balance fixes and general improvement

v1.9 changes
-correctly blocked the attacking allied units.
-terrain changes.
-experience system changed. Kills no longer gives xp, instead, all heroes get experience periodically
-minor fixes.

v2.0 changes
-All Evil heroes, including Gothmog and Witch-King can now revive.
-Victory conditions changed. Evil Forces must destroy White Tower, they don't need to kill Gandalf. Free People must wait for Aragorn, and then kill the Witch-King. When Aragorn arrive, Witch-King can no longer revive, so he can be killed to achieve victory. They don't need to kill Gothmog. Free People can still destroy all enemy bases to win as alternative way.
-Gothmog no longer has a special role in the game, so he's weakened as all regular heroes.
-New unit added for Haradrim: Lieutenant of Rhûn. As other commander units, they have Dispel Magic, Heal and Command Aura abilities.
-Added Gandalf skin.
-The top 2 Guard Towers of Minas Tirith are replaced with stronger Citadel Guardian Towers, because they have a special role in game.
-General minor changes.

v2.1 changes:
-Harder counter system added. This means all units have a major damage bonus against a unit class while they have a damage penalty against another unit class. The general rule is:
Infantry> Archers> Cavalry> Infantry
Some other units, Light Infantry for example, are effective against other infantry unlike the rule. There are some exceptions.
-With this new rule, attack types have been changed by follow: slashing, piercing, crushing and magic.
-Upgrades have been changed. There are now 4 upgrades: Slashing Weapons, Piercing Weapons, Crushing Weapons and Armor Plating.
-Heavy Warg Rider removed. And a new unit: Axe Thrower added. Axe Throwers are ranged units, and they are also counter-archer units.

v2.1b changes:
This is the music included version. Also i've fixed the Damage/armor table. There are no other changes.

v2.1c changes:
File size is reduced cause it can't be played at Battle Net before.
Added a new spell for Gorbag: Blade Dance.
White Tower is now invulnerable until Citadel Guardians destroyed.
Minor fixes and changes.

Well its not as fancy as the other altered melees i saw here, but its good... (though dont get any wrong ideas about my abilities as an editor this is my first map!)
Well enought excuses let me tell you whats its about :tiphat:

Well there arent many differences from the original melee, but there are the races instead of the Humans, Orcs, Undead and Night Elf there are the Mystical Elf, World Alliance, Necro Christ, Star Wachers, Naga and Doomed...
There are primary upgrades... Upgrades for the Buildings like Tower Engineering and Building Vitality to upgr dmg for towers and hp for all buildings! There is a Special building a Currency Trader wich converts Lumber into Gold and Gold into Lumber for all races when a hero is nearby!

Well its a melee i dont know what more to say exept that there is a Leaderboard showing wich player is in the game since theres a unique type of defeat for this map :)
Ok now i hope it comes in handy ...oh... there is very good AI for comps so dont underestimate them, they just need some time to develop :gives: about that but still... Have fun playing!

Carachteristics


- This is mostly a meelee map, but is mixed with elements of other types of maps. It's much better than previous versions.


- Max. number of players: 8 (4 X 4)


- Size in Editor: Medium.


- Patch version: 1.20e


- Size: 1.81mb


- Protected with Map Optimizer.


Main changes


- Updated for 1.20e patch.


- 3 optional game modes: Timed Mode, Hero Arena Mode, Auto-spawn Units Mode. All these modes can be simultaneous.


- 2 custom heroes added for Naga race.


- Some Tavern heroes replaced.


- 1 secret area added.


- 1 super-item added (this is not secret, but very dificult to find).


- Some terrain changes.


- Many bugs fixed.


- Boss abilities and sub-bosses changed.


- Computer AI works better.
