A nations' challenge idea

I'm thinking about organizing a tournament of nations' challenge. If there are enough people become interested in, I will declare following details.

Firstly, thank you all for your interests.
Yes this event can be considered as a world cup, if there would be people from other continents. ;)
At least 8 countries and 4 players for each country (and a team captain (can be a player also)) are needed but these are lower limits, it can be increased easily with enough interest. :D
Hmm I think there are already 4 countries in; Turkey, Serbia, Macedonia and Romania, that's nice. :) Other countries' joinings are gladly welcome.
My idea is that forming the regulations like ENC style, 4 1vs1 matches and 1 2vs2 match for a matchup.
For 1vs1 matches maps will be as:

Terenas Stand
Lost Temple (ROC or TFT)
Twisted Meadows
Turtle Rock
Gnoll Wood
Maelstrom WEG 2.4
For 2vs2 matches maps will be as:

Well if this would be done,my idea is :

1 game of 2v2 ->bo3

but this means 5-6 games Between 2 countries.
there must be observers for each game and for each war from all countries.
if the 1v1 games will be played simultaneous then u need 4 observers for each war(only if the wars will be all in the same time, like quarter-finals in the same time,then both semifinals in the sametime)
if u make 1 war per day,it'll kinda take too long, 8 teams, so the 1st round will take 4 days,then semifinals 2 days, final 1 day, 1 week ?! so there would be less observers, but booring?!

-will the 1v1 players be able to play in the team games?
-u need good hosts for each game and there are 5-6 games/per war, so 35-42 games ... obs for each game + host + the time elapsed .

Yes it will be a hard tournament but with the aids of yours I think we will overcome it. :)
My idea is Bo3 for all matches, like in ENC. I prefer 4 1vs1 matches and 1 2vs2 match, but if most of the players wish 3vs3 matches, maybe it can be.
8 countries is a lower limit, it can be more. If there exist 8 countries then single elimination can be, if more we can form groups and then form single elimination from group 1st and 2nd. (depending on the number of participating countries)
Well yes we need referees and good hosts for simulatenous playing, so we need to keep searching. :) Ah also a match must be played on a neutral host, I think.

i suggest, for faster (than a week) tournament 4 1v1 (bo1) and 1 2v2 (bo1, map - lost temple)...
a country should have at least 4 palyers (each palys 1 1v1 and they may play 2v2 too)... eliminatory rounds (that means 7 country-vs-country games)

The game rules should be like in any good clan tournaments, like wc3l.

Players who play solo also can also play team.

The best tournament format, would be 2 groups 4 teams. The 2 best teams adance and play 1/2 final and the winners will go play the final. This system will let good chances for best teams to advance. Not like good teams will start vs each others and the less strong countries will progress. About thouse observers its nonsense, we dont need at least 4 obs to start the game ( if ofc no one whants to observe), 1 host will be enought. Observers for all games can bring more trouble for the tournament.

Since server has been upgraded, we won't have a patch problem I hope so.
I think everyone is agreed at 4 1vs1 and 1 2vs2 matches but discussion in Bo1 or Bo3. Well, I see your worries, but actually I'm not afraid of time, would two or three weeks be a long time for THIS tournament, I don't think so.
My personal advice is that teams should show more than 4 players (the rest as substitute) I leave choosing team captains job to teams themselves, they know each other well so I think it won't be a problem. Team captainship is a responsibility as I mentioned before, so teams must be careful in choosing.
For date and time; I think 14th of June for starting day, and time arrangements will be made for each matchup, regarding the offical clocks of both countries. Two team matchups can be handled in a single day I think, if we are able to find enough hosts. Let's make a calculation, let there exist at most 15 matches for a country x - country y match, average 30 mins. last for one match that makes us 7.5 hours approximately. If we can combine (e.g. 2 1vs1 matches playing at the same time.), we can finish them in 4-4.5 hours, doesn't seem so long I think.
There won't exist a scoring problem I think, even though we consider 4 1vs1 matches in Bo1 style and 1 2vs2 match in Bo3 style; the wins at 2vs2 match would be considered as 1. (e.g. 2-0 score in 2vs2, only 1 win will be included in final score, same for 2-1.)
If we can find US hosts then why not including Latin America countries? ;)

I agree that good players @ north won't come to this tourney; at least I can say this for Turkey, but this is not a problem. (it would be nice for Insomnia, Zeus or Winnereset etc. joining but who will persuade them to join? :p) About lag problems, well we all need searching good hosts, so please do something more than just complaining. :laugh:

Well i dont agreen with any of this sentenses. Just some quick response. I dont think that anyone from your clan can beat players like Moon, Cells, Galvanize not including other gosus from north who come to play here sometimes. I just starded playing wc3 for 1.5 year. And the funnyest was about north, coz i play there and have lvl 34 so far, and it was me who organized the cw, but we couldn't come coz practecly all players had important surcamstances.

Rules and Regulations of Nations' Challenge Tournament
Tournament Starting Date and Place:
Registration will close at 12th of July and tournament will start at 14th of July. (match schedule will be announced in here.)
Events will be in channel NCT of this server.
Tournament Style:
8 teams will play in two groups. Teams that gather first and second place will play in semi finals, others will play for 5th,6th, 7th and 8th place determining matches.
A1-B2 & A2-B1 (semi finals)
A3-B4 & B3-A4 (for determining 5th, 6th etc.)
Style of Matchups:
There will be 4 1vs1 matches (Bo3 style) and 1 2vs2 match (Bo3 style) for a matchup.
For 1vs1 matches, maps will be as:
Echo Isles
Terenas Stand
Lost Temple (ROC or TFT)
Twisted Meadows
Turtle Rock
Gnoll Wood

For 2vs2 matches, maps will be as:

Teams' Duties:
All countries must declare a team captain and team captains have to be online before a matchup. (for determining personal matchups. e.g. Player A from Country X vs. Player B from Country Y)
If he/she wants; a team captain can be a player.
If a match is postponed, it will be announced. Both teams must follow the possible changes on the schedule, it is their responsibility.
It is suggested that teams would have extra players in case of an emergency.
Before a matchup:
Both team captains must be online in channel NCT with the referee and determine player matchups.
Both teams will remove two maps which they don't want to play and the referee will decide a map from the remaining maps.
Matches must be played on non-player hosts.
Latencies of all people must be checked before starting a game. If an observer lags during the game, he/she should be out.
Replays of the matches should be posted to the forum under the thread about that match created by the referee.
Policy about Illegal Behaviours:
All teams should show respect to each other. Any kinds of offending, flaming, insulting etc. can be penalized.
Stay calm while cheering your team. Nationalism is OK, but racism is not allowed. ;) In other words, do not offend other nations while you are cheering your team.
Use of maphack by a player can cause the whole team' s wins void, even can cause the disqualification of that team. (I'm serious)
When any disconnection occurs:
1) If disconnection occurs within 3 minutes of start of match, match will be restarted
2) If disconnection occurs after 3 minutes of start of match:
- If both players agree to a match restart, the match will be restarted.
- If the players cannot reach an agreement, the winner will be determined by a referee after the analysis of the match replay file.
- If the winner can not be decided by analyzing the match replay file, the players must agree to a match restart or forfeit the match.
Players must ask before pausing and unpausing a game, intentional behaviours can be penalized as a loss of that match.

Edit: Hmm; actually what we learned from our revolution history courses is that definition of Turkish nationalism is you must like your nation and your homeland but you must also show kindness and mercy to other nations, so I used "nationalism" word according to this definition. I never took a sociology course, so I can't say anything about what is nationalism according to sociology. :)
Btw, Turkish racists claim that they are different from Nazists, they should not be compared with that. (everywhere's racist is not same you see. :D :D)

From now on; teams should report (at least) 4 members during this day, or else I'm sorry, you won't be able to be in this tournament. (don't forget selecting a team captain. ;))
There are 10 teams now and another team can only be added if one of the existing teams fail to report 4 members.
Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria have already showed their players, so they just need choosing a team captain. (except Bulgaria. ;))

Well I'm not going to finish the whole tourney in just a day. Matchups of that day will last at most 3-3.5 hours. (I think)

This idea was in here for more than two weeks, and ofc I know it isn't easy but I must determine some certain procedure so everyone could be able to adapt.
Yes, I wrote Serbian team members according to the posts of Serbian people in this server, and no one objected them.
If you can clearly define what type of error you recieve, then I'll try to help you if I can.

This channel mistake caused my teams' delay. I could easily forced them to come in if you would be online in NCT. (and you would get free win after 20 mins, if they didn't come.)

My team came 10 mins late after I entered channel NTC. But your team members started to cry "where are Turks, we waited for 20 mins ffs." though they didn't have a right to say that. Still I wished people playing, so we managed to make salsalyo vs blood match. But others just escaped.

Hmm actually I was online in NCT and if you would come in NCT @ 6:30 in your time; firstly we should easily have determined the details and if my members were late, OK then I would give win to you. (you didn't tell me whcih nick you would be in server, so I wasn't able to communicate with you)
