DotA Clan Ladder Proposition, plz read!

Here's a proposition.

Back in the past I played StarCraft via Bnet for about 4 years and I have much experience in administration (clans
clanleague admin, few touraments admin, varios forums moderator etc.), so don't worry about that.

Now back to theme. I want to make eurobattle.net clan ladder, and I want you guys to help me.

This server, if I understand correctly, has very poor communnity organisation, where only you (eurobattle.net) provide
place for discussion and clanwar arrangement (or clanwars are also played via
eurobnet and are arranged there). It is ok, but not enough. Now, other Blizzard games have various leagues
(W3CL, SCCL, WGTCL, BWCL etc.) where some of the best Blizz games clans compete. On this server we can't achieve
that because there needs to be many money involved and many many patience, but we can make something close to that.

I suggest that we make new system, where clans will play versus eachother just as how they did so far (someone say, cw,
other guy accept, they invite their players and cw is played, or they arrange time vio forums here), and would be reported
here on this site. Then winner clans ranking will update. Here is example which will make it clearer i hope:

Clan1 plays vs Clan2.
Clan1 wins.
Clan1 reports win to the ladder admin
The ladder should look like this now:

1. clan1 1:0 100 pts
2. clan3 0:0 0 pts
3. clan2 0:1 -50 pts

Simple as that.

Hmm, i say NO, after this tournament we see that peoples dont want to work with US, and join tournament only for fun then not play. I say DEFINITLY NO.

acually i have been here for more than 3 years and i can tell u that most players on xpam r not taking online tournaments seriously enough ...
for them it's just an online event that no1 knows u for real life so it doesnt matter if u show up or not ...... they may not show up just coz they r eating now or feel too lazy to wake up ....
i mean that online tournaments for most ppl here comes at last of their priorities list :rolleyes:

Nono, u got me wrong.
It's not a tournament, it's like a database with rankings that would last for a long time. It's a stupid loss when ppl play clanwar and it isn't written (or noticed, idk the word) anywhere. Recently my clan ( [WW] ) played alot clanwars, and it sucks that it isn't written somewhere. [WW] clan will now get a website, and there will be results, but what with other clans? Most of them doesnt have website, and can't write which cw's they played and similar stuff. I came up with simple idea that would contain played clanwars + would have ranking so we know who is the most active, best etc clan.

That is WGTOUR, famous StarCraft site where many players play their ladders. They also have Nation ladder (the link above), where nations arrange nationwars then report it to the site and get their rank updated. Very simple.

My vote: for.

I think there are some clans which will take this ladder seriously (for example: ss, sd, dota, bdf). I am from LB, our clan was almost disintegrated (long time ago), but i think we will have enough people to play some clanwars.

For Elf: it wont be a tournament: imagine that one clan dont play any clanwars. Thats their problem! Clans from the top of the ladder have their own points!

I say NO. Who cares about Clan Wars Ladder here ? As Rotab said: Peoples dont take seriously tournaments and any kind of things like Tours. SO for what you going to make that ladder ? For 2 ? 3 clan ? If you want to save your results, write/for who somewhere that you want Clan Forum here and you will save it.

because IT WOULD BE LIKE A CONTINUOS TOURNAMENT

ur askin ppl to regularly monitor replays and shi! for a long period of time nad if some ppl do get interested then=large no. of replays

the answer my nig. is a definite no xpam ppls dont have that kind of dedication( the players not admins)

i think clan ranking is a good ideea....my clan would definettly take part in this ranking allthugh we are generally regarded as noobs (my clan is ATH)
i have another proposition...if this is even possible...:
if possible i think the dota map should be included amongst the warcraft maps u can play by pusshing "quick play game" button...so two clans would create 5 member teams and press quick play button and the clans would start playing eachother and the game wuld be rated on the server
i dunno if u guys understand what i'm trying to say or if it's even possible...but it would definetly be nice if it was possible

Nice iul, even better than mine. But you were writing for nothing because this community really sucks. No ambition, no will to make server better, they don't want even to try.

Ppl who don't support, you should catch sight of some other communities, since dota (probably the most played thing on eurobnet) is becoming more and more popular with blizzard and people, to attract more ppl so you could get that donations.

The problem is that you don't think further, you just stand still. You can't just ask ppl for money when all you can do here is play for fun and chat. If you want some money, you need to attract the real gamers who live gaming and are ready to pay for the game. That's how everything in gaming works. If your tournamets failed, then don't give up, work harder, invent something new, think further and improve stuff that ppl think you could improve.

I agree Hecky Pro... somethin must be done ... and because dota is most played here the dota ladder is a very good ideea and there will be for sure some money for the server...

pfff.. 90 percent of ppl who are rdy to pay money have original w3 so.. go FIGURE

im not sayin dota ladder is a bad idea im just sayin there will be too much argument over it..if u want an example look at the past 2 tourneys and u will c what i mean
